Light intensity varies by device; high-intensity lights require shorter curing times, while low-intensity lights may not be detectable by the eye. Avoid prolonged exposure of composite to ambient light to prevent premature curing.
-
Composite can be pre-applied to brackets if shielded from light.
Precautions:
-
Uncured composite may cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals. Avoid contact with skin; wash immediately with soap and water if contact occurs.
-
Rinse thoroughly with water if contact with other tissues occurs.
-
UV, halogen, and LED curing lights can damage eyes. Patients, clinicians, and assistants must wear appropriate protective eyewear during use.
